Greetings! You may use the form on this page under the General Contact section to contact me if you are a long-lost friend, if you have suggestions for collaborative research projects or improvements to the Great Books lists I have prepared, if you would like for me to do an interview with you, if you would like to invite me to speak at an event, etc.
Please understand that I receive such an enormous number of requests for individualized advice and suggestions that I simply cannot answer all of these. If you would like my advice for your language learning journey, you may submit an extensive description of your issues and goals for the Question-and-Answer page, with the understanding that I will answer it publicly on that page and may publish it in another format in the future. If you wish to do this, please refer to the Q&A Submission section.
Submission Guidelines for Letters to the Q&A Section​
Please spend some time reading through letters that have already been posted so that you can see the type of questions that have been asked (and perhaps find the answer to your issues).
Please understand that the goal of this section is to provide a lasting body of reference for autodidactic language learners and that your letter should contribute to the richness of this work.
Please understand that preference will be given to letters that compliment the existing information rather than repeating it.
Please write your letter using the highest, most polite, formal standard of writing of which you are capable, and please check your letter for grammatical and spelling mistakes before sending.
Please provide, in full detail, the background context of your learning situation as well as your current efforts and long-term goals.
Please understand that this section is for addressing complex and nuanced situations, not for providing simple specific advice.
If you would like to discuss your language learning journey with me in person so that we can map out a long term plan for your goals, develop a tailor-made individual language-study strategy program for you, or even engage in rigorous, hands-on studying with me, then I would be happy to schedule an individual consultation with you.
Consultation Fee – $150 USD
For this sum, I will meet with you for one hour on Zoom to discuss your situation in depth, write up a detailed plan or program based on our conversation, and answer a follow-up email asking for further clarification and guidance. Alternatively, if you wish for hands-on coaching or studying rather than a written plan and follow-up, I will meet with you twice.
I will accept a sliding fee scale based on financial need – contact me to discuss this, or if the available time slots below do not work for you.
Please make your booking a week or so in advance to allow sufficient time for me to prepare the session.
Cancellation Policy: This service is non-refundable. However, you may reschedule your appointment if another slot is available. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is preferred.
